Does my ute have to have an existing tray?
Not at all. It doesn’t matter whether you’ve got a tray or not we can build your canopy to suit your needs. We can build canopies that attach to utes with an existing tray back. Or, if you don’t have a tray we can supply an aluminium tray base or manufacture the canopy with an integrated floor- the choice is up to you!
What body styles are available?
Our canopies come in three different shapes. These include a square style body, rounded style body and standard canopy. All of these canopies come with traditional gullwing doors and raked sides.
Along with these canopies, Austates also manufactures mining contractors ute boxes. These boxes are manufactured especially for rough conditions like those in the mining industry.
These canopies come in two standard sizes:
- 1200L x 550w x 950H
- 1500L x 600w x 950H
Features of mining contractors ute boxes include (but are not limited to):
- The body of these boxes is made from 3mm aluminium sheet, and finished in Pearl White powder coat.
- The body joins are fully TIG welded and internal brackets are MIG welded.
- Doors have an internal stiffener welded inside to improve rigidity and security
- A full rubber door seal is fitted to prevent water and dust ingress to an IP55 rating
- Full length stainless steel piano hinge with stainless steel fasteners
- Drop locks with stainless steel pan & handle, multiple boxes can be keyed alike
- Boxes are mounted on 50mm spacers to allow for washing under them & to clear coamings on popular steel ute tray backs

What other styling options are available?
Our aim is to provide you with a canopy suited exactly to your needs. This means you can choose specific styling options you want. Your canopy will be built with a heavy gauge sheet aluminium. This aluminium can either be a checker plate or a smooth sheet with a powder coated finish.
Along with this you can choose everything else you get in your canopy. You can choose to add:
- Internal lighting
- Lift-off jacks
- Windows
- Vents
- Your choice of lock types
- Your choice of internal shelving and drawers
- Your choice of additional elements such as ladder bars and luggage racks.
